Writer's picture: MelMel

Hey there, me again. I told you I keep doing these, and if it's one thing I am good at, it's doing something consistently that doesn't actually have any bearing on my life or further my career in any way (kidding!! I will not go into the benefits of 1000+ days of outfits or documenting my weeks through these blog posts).

I did get some subs to my substack! Which I am still torn about. Do I have all of these posts over there so I can see who reads them/see who subscribes? Do I let the people lurk (yeah I see ya)? Do I want to have it all on my own platform that isn't really optimized for ... anything? I don't know!

This week is another .... week. I've been vloggin on tiktok and it's fun? But like at the moment still a bit depressing. Depends on the day. Also sorry this is a day late! I'll explain!

Started off strong! That's it. Yeah...

Monday -1186

Started out as a pretty okay day and ended up.... :( I had my first class of the semester and really liked my outfit. Otherwise .... :(

Deets:

Blouse: I meant to look this morning and forgot sorry

vest: Jones New York via TJMaxx

skirt: thrifted Muji from Buffalo Exchange

boots: JustFab

Tuesday - 1187

Working from home has been brutal lately. But I went for a run in the evening and felt revived. But my ankle hurts real bad, which is a bit of a predicament.

Deets:

sweater: old Garage

pants: thrifted

boots: thrifted Dr. Martens from Crossroads

Wednesday - 1188

Also a weird day. Work was so weird today and then I was sad (what else is new), but I went to run club and once again felt better. I hate that The People are correct about exercising helping you feel better, but MAN are they correct.

Deets:

earrings: Buffalo Exchange

dress: Urban Outfitters

turtleneck: old Walmart

boots: v old Nastygal

Thursday - 1189

Another rough day, but I had therapy today.

Deets:

cardigan: tagless, I got it at a random flea market

jeans: thrifted Express from Crossroads

loafers: TJMaxx

bag: was my mama’s in the 80’s :)

Friday - 1190

OMG happy outfit 1190! So close to 1200 :o. Incred. Anyway. Tie as NECKtie. I was so excited about this one. My ankle hurt so much that I could not wear any other shoes but these. But I think it worked - oh, except that it was raining and the pants are too long. I do usually wear heels with them so they got muddy.

Deets:

tie: thrifted Calvin Klein

button down: thrifted from Racks Valley Boutique

pants: Lee (from Walmart)

sneakers: Sam Edelman (from the children's section of Ross)

Saturday - 1191

Weird day. I read a lot of my book! But mostly, honestly bad time. Sad time.

Deets:

sweater: I’ve had forever so I’m actually unsure

earrings: Buffalo Exchange

necklace: also buffex ♡

skirt: old target

shoes: Berness from TJMaxx

Sunday - 1192

This was IT! My whole outfit. Very different than the usual, but also not new to me, just new to you. I don't usually post my running fits, but maybe I should?

Deets:

what I’m wearing ♡ ♡ ♡

jacket: LuluLemon!

pants: were my mom’s 😌 warm!

shoes: Asics

Updates

Class started this week, I'm still feeling depressed but it ebbs and flows. It's hard to find a lot of hope given everything, but there are still pockets of hope and love every day.

Race on Sunday! Woo! I hope my ankle feels better.

Update of end of Sunday/Monday is my ankle does feel a lot better and my race was SO GOOD. I am so thrilled with how it turned out even though it was literally 12 degrees. Maggie and I went to the diner after and then I went home and took a nap and proceeded to spend the entire afternoon with a splitting migraine and th****** u*. Not fun.

But the Grammys were fabulous! I am publishing this on Monday night instead of Sunday because of the things I just mentioned; I had to finish my homework during the Grammys (once I regained my a bit of my physical strength!) so that took priority over publishing this, unfortunately.

I'm still reading Lessons in Chemistry. It's very good and very devastating!

Lessons in Chemistry

by Bonnie Garmus

So many to choooooose from lately, but they're all so deeply personal and that freaks me out to share, honestly. Let's do this one for this week:

second chances

I don't understand death

never been able to

raised on hope and fantasy stories

second chances,

just turn the page

try again, there must be away

no one's every really gone

what a harsh metallic taste

to close the book

to know there's nothing else

that gone is gone

and that's it

Music

There are still some days where I haven't been able to listen to music which is hard. I have still been, unfortunately, consistently relating to TTPD. But all the pop girlies have good breakup albums, so shoutout to other people also being sad. Thank you for your service.

ABBA: If It Wasn't For the Nights

and the mornings too honestly.

Taylor Swift: Down Bad

Always crying at the gym (obvi) but this song has unfortunately become more relatable to me in the past two weeks! Upsetting!

Sabrina Carpenter: Things I Wish You Said

Emails I Can't Send will foreverrrr be one of my favorite albums.

Gracie Abrams: Free Now - Live From Vevo

Another really unfortunate #relatable one

Lesley Gore: I'm Collin', No Foolin'

No foolin', I am not coolin'. But it's fine.

Ins/Outs

In this week is doing things that will make your future self feel joyful. Putting out a cute outfit the night before, buying fruit so you can have a lovely little work from home breakfast. Love u, future Mel.

Out is rushing. I think this one's often out, but I think timeline wish we always wish we were further along than we are, when in reality, we're exactly where we're supposed to be. Yeah, it's corny, but I believe it! So there.

Snacks

Did I ever tell you that I didn't like bacon up until about last year? That's because in second grade I are a bunch and felt really nauseous after. Well anyway, bacon is back, for better or for worse, and so are cookie dough oven cookies that you just make throughout the week so you have something to look forward to in the evenings.

Fixation

This week I have just been sad (not just, but a lot), so I've been trying to take care of myself, and be consistent in care that also includes physical care. I mentioned my ankle hurts, so I've been trying to take the time to ice it a few times a day. But just in general, regular day-to-day care to keep going has been big for me the past few weeks.

Picture of my Cat

As promised:

absolute baby! I love her.

Thanks for reading, see you next week :)

♡♡♡

Mel
